New photos from a shoot at Mission San Luis Obispo de Tolosa just added to these gallery pages: Black & White, Assorted Images, Places, and Plants & Flowers. This mission, founded in 1772, is unusual in its design in that its combination of belfry and vestibule is found nowhere else among the California missions. The well-maintained mission in downtown is both a popular tourist attraction and an active parish church of the Diocese of Monterey.
Great shot! I love the mission gardens, cradled in the less accessible part of the mission. I’ve never really paused to look at these old bells. I wonder if their replacements are as large.
